i love those stories where there’s no point even trying to avoid spoilers, not because they’re unavoidable but because everything you see on your dash is so batshit incomprehensible without context that someone could literally spell out the ending and you’d never know it because you’re still not totally sure which characters exist or what constitutes reality

100% not joking! I did indeed have a barbecue over lava, back in my university days. When a volcano erupts and only Scientists are given access to the area to do Very Serious Science, this is what they use it for. Pretty sure I earned my master’s degree on my ability to perfectly toast a marshmallow without melting my shoes.
